I can't even begin to imagine what they are doing to cause something simple require so much resources to run. In scribblenauts this effect is used on pretty much every pop-up menu, and unfortunately each letter you type uses this effect as well, making typing a much slower process. How it zooms in small to large (which incidentally my pc can handle in browser with no problem at all). The effect is similar to when you search google images and roll your mouse over a thumbnail.

It appears that when the game slows, it does so every time it does a small to large animation zoom effect. It slows down when trying to access the options menu, any dialog pop-up, or while typing in words. The image panning seemed like a tough job to pull off for the scribblenauts team, so I went ahead and skipped the intro as soon as the dialog to do it managed to be drawn.įinally in the game it actually ran decent and was playable. The intro consists of a camera panning over still images while a narrator tells the story. Nonetheless one simple image took some doing trying to pull off a fade effect.Īfter that I was able to start the game, but the intro story was near un-watchable. Something javascript could pull off with no problem, let alone a full DirextX powered game. It's a vary simple graphic that would take 1 polygon to display and chugged along trying to display it. I thought it might not be there but I checked task manager and Scribble.exe was there. The first time running it, the game took a minute or two to start with no indication anything was happening.

The computer I am trying to run it on has an Intel Celeron 3.0 ghz single core processor, VisionTek Radeon HD 2600 XT, and 1GB and ram. So I took a chance and bought the game since there is no demo to try and see if I can even run it.
